Free BIPOC-centered legal support open to all identities.
The Root Social Justice Center, in collaboration with Vermont Legal Aid, hosts the BIPOC Legal Aid Clinic to provide free legal support tailored for Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) communities in Vermont. These clinics address systemic barriers and promote equity by offering guidance on tenant rights, eviction support exclusively for tenants, and advice on addressing unsafe or substandard housing conditions. Additionally, the clinics assist with drafting forms and navigating the process to clear criminal records, helping participants remove legal barriers and create new opportunities. By offering culturally responsive legal services, these clinics empower the BIPOC community to advocate for justice, housing stability, and self-determination.
While this is a BIPOC-centered clinic, it is multiracial and open to all identities, meaning everyone can access this support.
